Plain words for a Charlotte peptide-care search

How can I check the name I have been given?

Ask for a full name and the type of professional you would see. Keep the name beside the board record so you can compare them.

The person and the pharmacy need separate checks.

Check the person and pharmacy

The Medical Board’s free lookup information points to records for North Carolina doctors and physician assistants. Those records show the licence status, training and any published Board decisions about problems with the person’s practice.

Match the name and type of professional. Read the record to see if the licence is active, rather than trusting a badge displayed by the care website. Open any linked Board decision to see what happened and whether it limits the person’s work.

Even if the Board has published no decision against the clinician, the record cannot tell you how good their care will be.

For a nurse practitioner

Use the nursing board’s verification page for a North Carolina nurse practitioner. The Medical Board’s search for doctors and physician assistants does not include nurse practitioners.

As of September 28, 2026, North Carolina nurse practitioners work through a written agreement with a supervising physician. Ask the practice how that arrangement works for the care being discussed.

For the pharmacy

The North Carolina Board of Pharmacy links to its own free verification search for pharmacies and pharmacists. A pharmacy outside North Carolina must hold the state’s permit to send prescription medicine to someone there, as of September 28, 2026.

Get the full name of the pharmacy that will send the medicine before paying. Compare it with the name in the board record and later with the label. Ask about a mismatch.

If the record is hard to match

Ask the service to spell the name and give the licence or permit number. Return to the board search with that information. Keep the reply for your own notes.

Ask the Board to explain an unfamiliar licence status or decision. Use the record to plan the questions you want to ask about their care.
